New York

The 3 days in New York was to meet relatives and friends whom we met 5-6 years ago mostly since we last visited New York.

The first stop was Hyo-Jin's house in Monmouth Junction at the southwestern tip of New Jersey state. Hyo-Jin is the grandson of my eldest sister and his kids were really grown up since we last visited them in May 2002. At that time, the daughter was younger than 1 year old. We stayed one night at his home.

Next morning on 8/30, we drove to Seong-Koo's son, Bryan's 2nd. home in Long Island. Bryan lives in Manhattan to work during the week days and come to this beautiful house, not too far from the Atalantic Ocean beach, every weekend to relax. The Long Island was really long long island and it took 3 hours of driving from Hyo-Jin's house.

At the backyard of Bryan's beautiful house with swimming pool and tennis court.
Seong-Koo couple happened to be there visiting to see lovely granddaughters and waited for us.

One and half month old Meredith (left) and Caroline, almost 2 years old (right)

At Do-Hyuk's home where we stayed 2 nights. He is a cousin of Jane.

Do-Hyuk lives in Fort Lee, New Jersey, at the Hudson riverside and these are the pictures of George Washington Bridge connecting New Jersey and Manhattan (top) and central Manhattan (bottom) taken from backyards of his house in early morning when the sun was just rising.

At a Korean restaurant with Mr. Jung-Yang Park, another old ham radio friend since half centry ago in Korea. His Korean call sign was HM1BA. He is still working and has no sign to retire yet.

With my cousin Dong-Wook couple in a Korean restaurant. We last met also 6 years ago when we visited New York in 2002 to attend his daughter's wedding and talked a lot about almost everything.
Unfortunately, we missed to see Dong-Ik, Dong-Wook's elder brother, this time as he went a month long trip to Hawaii and Mexico arranged by his daughter.

After short 3 nights in New York, we travelled to Ashburn, Virginia, not too far from Washington DC to northwest, on
9/1 to visit Yo-Yoon and Young-Hyuk Cho.
Yo-Yoon was one of very early ham operator in Korea (Call sign HM1AB) half centry ago and has U. S. license with U. S. call sign of KD1AB currently. Young-Hyuk is Jane's younger sister.

They live in a complex with golf course and #6 hole fairway is their backyard. We will stay at their home for 5 days to relax and recoup from long trip upto here for 18 days before we continue the rest of the trip.

We had a great welcome dinner with Yo-Yoon and Young-Hyuk Cho couple at Ashburn.

Their house.

This #6 hole of the Belmont Country Club is their backyard.
