Alaska & Whistler Trip

D, I, and Jane had a very enjoyable trip to Alaska and Whistler (About 80 miles north of Vancouver, next Winter Olympic site in 2010) leaving San Jose airport on 8/12 and returning home on 8/21 for 10 days, with two old Fiarchild/KMI friends - Kyu-Man Shim couples and Chung-Kyu An couples. It was two different trips combined. One was Alaska for 5 days and another a golf package in Canada for 5 days.

In Alaska, they drove to Whittier and took a cruise to watch many spectacular glaciers by the sea. Next they, they drove for about 4 hours to Denali National Park where the Mt. McKinley, the highest mountain in North America, is.

After Alaska trip, An couples returned to Korea and Cho couple and Shim couple flew back to Seattle, rent a car, and drove to Whistler through Vancouver. They stayed two nights there and played two rounds of golf at Chateau Whistler Golf Course and Nicklaus North Golf Course. On the third day, they drove back to Vancouver and played another round of golf at Furry Creek Golf Course at the north of Vancouver on the way to Vancouver.

Next day, Shim couples remained in Vancouver for another day of sightseeing and returned to Korea, while Cho couples drove down to Whidbey Island at northwest of Seattle to visit old ham friend Sooja Nehrlich (one of three lady hams in Korea in early 70s - Call Sign : HM1CC) for one night, who built a new house there and moved in only a few weeks ago from Chicago.
