We
played a round of golf at the Belmont Country Club, which is the backyard of
Yo-Yoon/Young-Hyuk's house, on the next day we arrived (6/16). Bo-Hyuk, the
younger brother of Jane arrived there on 6/11, 4 days earlier than us, and
we met him after many many years (center of the following picture).
Next day,
we went to a small park just northwest of Washington DC called "Great
Falls Park". It was not big but beautiful small park with small falls
as shown below. It was rainy but very light.
Next
day on 6/18 after the stay of 3 nights in Ashburn, we left Ashburn and
headed for New Jersey driving 254 miles. On the way to New Jersey, we
stopped by the famous "Gettysburg National Military Park" which
displays many interesting materials and photos of famous fighting during
civil war. We
left Ashburn at 10:00 AM and arrived my cousine Dong-Ik's house at 4:00 PM.
It took longer than planned as the Gettysburg stop-over was not planned
originally. Little later, Dong-Wook couple, Dong-Ik's younger brother living
not too far, joined us and had a great dinner prepared by Dong-Ik's wife
altogether. We talked a lot about many subjects as we last met many years
ago with Dong-Ik, though we met Dong-Wook during our Trans-Canada/USA trip
about 10 months ago. (Dong-Ik had a great vacation trip last year to Hawaii
and Cancun, Mexico arranged and paid by their daughter.)

We stayed the
night at Dong-Ik's house and drove to Boston driving 312 miles next day
(6/19). Ater the rest couple of hours, we joined the Rehearsal Dinner at
Chinese Restaurant called "Su Chang's". The 3rd. and 4th. from
left in the picture below is bride's parents who adopted the bride Laura, a
Korean girl, when she was only a few months old.
Next
day, 6/20 - the wedding day, since the wedding will start at 5:00 PM, we
drove to Quincy Market in Boston downtown and had a great and my favorite
lobster lunch at famous Durgion-Park restaurant which is more than 100 years
old, while Yo-Yoon couple went to his father's cemetry near-by with his
sister's family. I love this restaurant more than any expensive high class
lobster restaurant in Boston area and have visited every time whenever I
came to Boston (I have visited Boston quite frequently when I was woking for
Samsung Semiconductors as there are many computer companies in Boston area.)
The wedding started
at 5:00 PM as scheduled at the "Castle Hill Estate" in a small
town called Gloucester at the Atlantic Ocean beach. We had to drive winding
country roads for about 30 min. to get there but it was a gorgeous place
with wonderful view of the ocean from backyard and beautiful arrangements of
whole huge gardens acres wide. This was a personal resident built in 18th.
century and designated as a "National Historic
Landmark" now.
Happy
bride Laura and groom Abe after they just became Mr. & Mrs. Cho.
Ater
the wedding, we had a cocktail party at the backyard of the main building
overlooking beautiful views of
backyard of the estate and Atlantic Ocean shown in the next pictures. Wedding
Party.
On
6/21, the next day, we drove back to New Jersey and visited Jane's cousin
Do-Hyuk's house and had a dinner together. Their house is right along the
Hudson River and have this great view of Manhattan and George Washington
Bridge from the back yeard.
We
stayed the night of 6/21 in New Jersey hotel and started another long drive
to return home on 6/22.
