กก Our
50th. Anniversary 4/15,
1962 - 2012 50
Years !! Half Century !! We thought it is a long time but, somehow, we lived
together for an half century now. It
was a long period of time but was not too long. During this half century, we
had a lot of great events to remember but hard times too. Our three sons are
all grown now and we have 2 wonderful baseball players as grandsons. We
have traveled Southeast Asia, Japan, China and Europe together and, more
than that, we have crossed North American Continent 10 times by car
together. In addition, we have enjoyed driving around the west of Rocky
Mountains so many times visiting most of the National Parks (I think we
visited all of 1st./2nd. class National Parks and some 3rd. class too.) and
many State Parks together having wonderful times. We have moved around so many times (Jane
counted as almost 25 times) in 3 countries (Korea, Taiwan and U. S. A.).
Jane says we moved and traveled so many times because I was born in the
"Year of Dog" which is running around always. Anyway, We have
enjoyed so many great events during the last 5 decades though there were
some unhappy times too from time too time which must be inevitable for
everyone. ===========================================================================================================กก This
is a "Golden Wedding Anniversary" Card from Johnny. He paid all
cost of our stay in "Sycamore Hot Spring Resort" on anniversary
day.
Well, we will do our best to enjoy "next 50 years" as he
wishes as much as possible !!
This is a specially made Golden Wedding
Anniversary Card from Seong-Koo/Sungja. They ordered this special card to
Apple with our picture taken at Gina's wedding ceremony in Columbus on
4/15/01. Many Many Thanks for the wonderful special card !!
We stayed on the day of the anniversary at
the following "Sycamore Hot Spring Resort".
It is located about the half way to Los Angeles and only 8 miles from San
Luis Obispo, where Willy graduated the Cal-Poly. It has 21ea. "outdoor
hot spring tubs" on the forest hill with a lot of trees. It is a
great fun to take hot spring bath under the blue sky surrounded by big
trees. The rooms are scattered in the forest with trails to walk around. We
stayed in a King Suite named "Tranquility"
(They use room names rather than room numbers.), from where we had to have a
nice walking of quite a distance to go to hotel office, restaurant or hot
tubs. They also have miles of walking trails for your exercise which we
walked in the morning after breakfast on 4/16.
It took about 3 hours of Highway-101 driving to go there on 3/15 but about 5
hours 30 minutes to return home on the next day as we drove Highway-1 to
enjoy beautiful scenery of the Pacific Coast which is very winding road at
the southern part where you can not drive any faster than 20 - 40 mph for
almost 2 hours until San Semoen and no faster than 50 mph from San Simeon, where the famous
Hearst Castle is, through Monterey.
This was our room - They call it King Suite
named "Tranquility" - a suite room with king size bed.
กกThe
bridge we had to walk to go to office, restaurant and hot tubs.
We
had a wonderful dinner at the restaurant "Marisol" of "The
Cliff Resort" at the nearby Pismo Beach.
This
is the walking trail for miles long where we walked in the morning of 4/16
after breakfast before to check out the hotel.
On the Highway-1, there was a beach with
so many Elephant Seals. All which looks like fishes are Elephant Seals
taking a nap at the beach.
A
beautiful restaurant at Ragged Point along the Highway-1 where we had the
lunch.
Highway-1
along the Pacific Coast - some times high, some times low - with beautiful
ocean view all the way.
It
was a great day with the memory of half century ago. We have talked a lot
about the events 50 years ago in the car and walking the trail at the hotel. Many
thanks to all who have congratulated us !! กก
