Jane and D.I. checked out of the motel early in the morning of 7/13 - maybe too early, because when they got to the "Shrine Drive-Thru Tree," which was very close to the motel at Myers Flat, the sign said "Open", but there was no attendant to collect the fees ($1.50/person). So they just drove in and saw the tree (above, top and center), and saved themselves $3.00.

They also stopped by the "Tour-Thru Tree" at Klamath on Highway 101, past Eureka. Again, there was no attendant, but there was a sign asking for a $4.00 deposit per car and the words "WE TRUST YOU." Well, what can you do when someone says he or she trusts you? Jane and D.I. deposited $4.00 and drove through the tree as shown above.
