Chunji of Mt. Baekdoo in Korea for comparison (Very similar)

Crater Lake was really a beautiful lake. It was much smaller than Lake Tahoe but much more beautiful.  The dark blue color of the water was especially impressive. The deepest spot of the lake is 1,943 feet or 593 meters deep and the highest point arount the lake was 8,929 feet or 2,721m high, almost same as Mt. Baekdoo in Korea.  In the middle of the lake is a small island called "Wizard Island."  The road circling the lake is called "Rim Road" and is 33 miles long.  It would take a little more than an hour just to drive this road without stopping. No more explanation of the lake is needed, as "seeing is believing."

Jane and D.I. watched the lake from the vista point (Sinnot Memorial Overlook) of the Visitor Center only, figuring the lake would look alike regardless of where you were standing when you looked at it.  Since there was not much time left in the day, they left the park, driving south on Highway 62 and 97.  They saw several motels along the way, but they all looked too small, with fewer than 10-15 rooms - probably much worse than the room they had had their first night at Myers Flat. They ended up driving more than an hour (about 60 miles) before they finally found a Holiday Inn Express at Klamath Falls, where they stayed the night.
