On the 2nd. day of the trip, we were just about to continue the trip of the Highway 80 to cross the U.S.A. from San Francisco to New York, after BBQ lunch at a rest area in Nevada state. The Ford Station Wagon is seen here which was a new car driven only about 10Km at this time.

If you get out of Highway 80 and drive little to south, you will hit the Highway 40 which runs in parallel to Highway 80. If you continue to drive Highway 40 to east, you will see this Dinosaur National Monument right before Colorado state. Here are fossils of old dinosaurs on the wall and you can imagine the life of dinosaurs in olden times.

On the way to north looking for the Mountain Rushmore which is famous by the statues of 4 presidents faces, we found accidentally this "Bedrock City" which has been so popular on TV and spent quite a time looking around this very fun play ground. Mr. Flinston and his friend with their family in a city of this stone age and modern 20th. century mixed carton society, provided great fun to spend time for kits.

If you drive Highway 90 to east from Mt. Rushmore to Chicago, you can pass "Badland National Park". Just as the name indicates, this is really a bad land. It is quite big as Kyongsangdo in Korea. It is not a desert nor a canyon. However, no tree grows there at all, though this is one of the "National Park".

We drove from Chicago to Niagara Falls to see the famous falls and meet my sister who lived in Toronto, Canada, at that time. I was told the Niagara is more beautiful at Canada side and I tried to cross the bridge to Canada side. However, at that time, we have applied the permanent resident visa of U.S. and stayed in U.S. with this application without visa legally. When I went to immigration officer at the bridge and asked permission to cross the bridge just for a few hours, the officer said "You are foreigners and we can not stop you to cross to Canada. However, as you are under the application of permanent visa now without legal visa, I can not allow you to come back to U.S.A. once you leave U.S.A.." What a great statement. He didn't say we can not go out to Canada but said we can not come back!! What is the difference? As the result, we could not go to the Canada but my sister's family came to U.S.A. side to meet us in U.S.A..
